Decine di opere d’arte, romanzi, film e altri prodotti dell’industria culturale hanno posto il libro protagonista: la sua ricerca, le sue rivelazioni, le sue forme. Libri che possono cambiare i destini dell’umanità, pericolosi, che nascondono arcani, di facile o difficile accesso. Attorno al libro, si sviluppa un ecosistema costituito da artisti e lettori, sempre a fianco di conoscenze forse scomparse secoli fa e recuperate, o mai esistite.
This is a study of the constitutive and normative representations of the role of the universe of the book in the social imaginary. It reports the state of the imaginary that this represents. Dozens of works of art, novels, films and other products of the cultural industry have placed the book as the protagonist: its research, its revelations and its forms. Books that can change the destinies of humanity: they are dangerous, can hide the arcane, are easy or difficult to access. Around the book, an ecosystem has developed made up of artists and readers, always alongside knowledge that perhaps disappeared centuries ago and recovered, or never existed.
