Il presente lavoro, adottando una comprensione della cittadinanza come pratica, esplora il concetto di cittadinanza affettiva, in particolare approfondendo la relazione tra pratiche artistiche, emozioni e cittadinanza. La prima parte del saggio fornisce un quadro di lettura della relazione tra cittadinanza, cura ed emozioni e del ruolo del corpo e dei processi di embodiment . Vengono quindi presentati alcuni esiti di una ricerca-azione implementata nell’ambito del progetto europeo Performing gender: Dancing In Your Shoes , che ha coinvolto organizzazioni culturali, dancemakers e comunità in processi di co-creazione nel campo della danza, per esplorare le questioni relative al genere e alle identità, e attivare processi di solidarietà. Nel complesso la ricerca pone in luce il tipo di pratiche affettive innescate dalle pratiche di danza con le comunità, e permette di comprendere in che termini queste pratiche si configurano come uno spazio di «messa in atto» della cittadinanza e della solidarietà. 

This paper builds on an action-research project implemented as part of the European project «Performing gender: Dancing In Your Shoes» (PG:DIYS), which involved cultural organizations, dancemakers and non-professional communities in exploring, through the body and dance practices, issues related to gender and identities, and the dynamics of encountering different identities and creating communities and spaces of solidarity. The research focused on a field of inquiry that interrogates the role of the body as a relational device and the creation of shared emotional spaces in which to experience acts of mutual care, as spaces for the «enactment» of citizenship and solidarity. This area of interest is situated in the critical studies of citizenship that look at citizenship as practice and that, in distinguishing between being and becoming citizens, highlight its performative character. More specifically, it stands at the intersection of two fields of research that have emerged within the framework of this paradigm. The first, focuses on the sphere of care and emotions and the politicity of the relationship between citizenship, care and emotions. The second field focuses attention on artistic practices as a space of citizenship, considering them as transformative devices for the creation of counter-hegemonic imaginaries, community-making and solidarity. This paper intends to place these two perspectives in dialogue in an exploratory way. It thus provides a theoretical framework regarding the relationship between citizenship, care, emotions and the role of the body and embodiment processes; secondly, it presents some research outcomes, and proposes a framework for interpreting artistic practices as a space of affective citizenship.
