I sociologi europei hanno l’esigenza di sviluppare un lavoro collettivo che ne rafforzi le relazioni e gli scambi per trovare soluzioni comuni ai grandi problemi globali che stanno affrontando tutti i paesi europei. In questo quadro, una questione centrale è la dialettica tra Nord e Sud. È in tale prospettiva che l’intervento della Presidente dell’AIS alla tavola rotonda AIS-ESA – nella sessione di apertura del Convegno di metà mandato dell’attuale Direttivo AIS – si è concentrato su alcune delle sfide che la sociologia italiana, in quanto sociologia di un paese del Sud Europa, si trova attualmente ad affrontare.
European sociologists need to strengthen their relations and work together more: they are dealing with global issues that concern all the European countries, so they need to look for possible global solutions, and do so together. Within this framework, one of the central topics is the difference between the north and south of Europe. The speech given by the AIS President at the AIS-ESA round table discussion that opened the conference in Catania (5-6 October 2018) thus focused on the challenges currently faced by Italian Sociology, the sociology of a Southern European country.
