The article analyses the main causes of the standstill and of the consequent intense crisis of the Italian political system. The course of the present work will concern three points: we will give the possibility to understand the passage from the First to the Second Republic; we will analyse the most important tracts of the Second Republic; finally, we will give some perspective about the actual possibility to lead the political system towards a Third Republic: it depends from different elements, which are going to be analysed in detail. In order to acquire a satisfactory analysis and explication of the previous dynamics, we will individualize two levels of analysis: the simply political-institutional and the economic one.
